Be sure to have a copy of your most recent utility bill handy; in most states, we'll need your utility account number when you enroll. After your enrollment is complete, NRG will work with your current provider or utility to complete the switch. It will take one or two billing cycles before you see us listed as the energy supplier on your bills.
Once you switch to NRG, you’ll experience no interruption in service and you’ll still receive your bill from your utility. When your service with us starts, your supply charges will be from NRG instead of your utility. Your utility will continue to deliver your electricity, read your meter and take care of any emergencies or outages.

Your service start date depends on your local utility. Your service will usually start within one or two billing cycles, but in select markets you may be able to choose your start date when you enroll. When your service has started, NRG will show as a line item on your bill under "supply."
