NRG Community Solar Program

NY customers: On your utility bill, look for the "Community Value Stack Credit" line item. This is your community solar subscriber savings. If you don't see the line item, your share of the project didn't produce credits that month.

MA customers: On your utility bill, find the line item "Remote Net Meter Credit" under "Other Charges/Adjustments." This is where you can find the total credit amount issued under your subscription. If this line item is missing, your share of the project didn't produce credits that month.

IL customers: Your credits will appear on your utility bill from Ameren or ComEd.

NY customers: You won't see a change in how you're currently billed. When your share of the community solar project produces electricity, credits will appear on your monthly utility bill. The credits will be labeled as "Community Value Stack Credit" under "Other Charges/Adjustments." The utility handles any payments to the community solar provider, so you pay your monthly utility bill normally.

MA customers: When you sign up for community solar in Massachusetts, your billing will change slightly. As a community solar subscriber, you will receive your monthly utility bill as usual. However, your utility bill will list the amount of solar credits applied, offsetting the amount that you will owe National Grid MA for electricity consumption. You will also receive a bill from your community solar provider for your subscription to the community solar project. 

IL customers: You will continue to receive your electricity bill directly from the utility and pay them directly as usual. This bill will include your regular utility charges, the contribution to the solar project and any credits you’ve earned from the program.
