Lower Valley Community Food Bank is a nonprofit organization, serving the communities of Cheswick Borough, Harmar Township, Indiana Township, Springdale Borough and Springdale Township. Their mission is to help end food insecurity and increase opportunities for families to meet their nutritional needs with health and dignity. They serve approximately 200 families twice a month from the Springdale Borough Building on School Street in Springdale, Pa.
Girls on the Run has fun, evidence-based programs that inspire all girls to build their confidence, kindness and decision-making skills. Dynamic lessons instill valuable life skills, including the important connection between physical and emotional health.
There are over 470,000 children living with epilepsy in our nation, of which more than 90,000 of them have severe seizures that cannot be adequately treated. Epilepsy often robs children of their happiness, comfort, and confidence. The Hannahtopia Foundation exists to help remind them of how brave, strong, and fearless they are through programs like NillyNoggin's Across the Nation and Gift A Warrior Box.
Lunch Break is a one-stop resource center offering a wide variety of programs and services, including food-security programs, clothing, life skills and job training, outreach, temporary housing for homeless families, mentoring, wellness, and social services. They provide the necessary services and training to give our community members a comprehensive path to self-sufficiency.
